INTRODUCTION
On 22d of November 2002 Kherson branch of Institute of post-graduate education "Odessa Maritime Training Center" introduced new training course "Bridge Team Management" based upon IMO model course 1.22. Simulator NT Pro 4000 is used in educational process. The simulator includes 2 navigational bridges with three-channel and one-channel visualization system, which provides greater reality of the training sailing.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Navigational simulator NT Pro 4000 allows to carry out training of navigators and pilots in many directions including:
- Radar watch and plotting;
- Use of ARPAs;
- Electronic charts systems;
- Organization of the underway navigational watch;
- Maneuvering and ship's handling.
Navigational simulator NT Pro 4000 is approved and certified by the Department of Sea Transport of Russia and can be used for training in above mentioned directions.
EQUIPMENT OF THE NAVIGATIONAL BRIDGES
Equipment of the navigational bridges includes:
- Ship's handling means and devices;
- ARPAs/Radar (Bridge Master E, Furuno, Nucleus II);
- ECDIS;
- Navigational equipment;
- Communicative equipment;
- + one bridge is equipped with 3- channel visualization system.

VISUALIZATION
|
NT Pro 4000 visualization system allows to reproduce surrounding environment including water surface, coast line, navigational situation, land marks and objects, various atmosphere phenomena, visibility and illumination effects. All steps of special operations, such as searching-rescuing, mooring and towing operations are displayed, which makes the simulator exclusively effective in the process of sea practice training.

TYPES OF SHIPS
Navigational simulator NT Pro 4000 contains database of the ship's models of various classes. At the moment it includes more then 40 models, among them container ships, tankers, fishing vessels, ferries, tugs etc. All the parameters are developed basing upon the results of the researches of the leading scientific centers of Russia and comply with the highest word standards.

AREAS OF SAILING
Navigational simulator NT Pro 4000, installed in Center, contains 11 areas of sailing:
- Glasgow and approaches;
- Peterhead and approaches;
- Baltimore;
- Gibraltar strait;
- Irish Sea;
- New York and approaches;
- Bosfor;
- Dardanelles;
- Sydney and approaches;
- Dover Strait;
- Malakka Strait.

SOUND EFFECTS
NTPro simulator system creates sound environment, which corresponds with the areas of sailing. It imitates wind, noise of the engines, cable chains, alarms and other signals.
